Il est modifi\u00e9 par traitement des gaz \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature pour changer la structure \u00e9lectronique et cr\u00e9er le plus haut niveau d\u2019activit\u00e9 catalytique sur le carbone afin de r\u00e9duire la chloramine et l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne sulfur\u00e9 dans l\u2019eau. Cette fonctionnalit\u00e9 catalytique ajout\u00e9e est beaucoup plus importante que celle des charbons actifs traditionnels.
